Do You Have Questions?

What is the cost for the services?

There is no cost for consultations or initial meetings with clients; donations are appreciated.
There is a sliding scale fee ranging from $25/hr.–$100/hr., depending on clients’ income and situation.
Fees may fall below the range stated above or waived depending on clients’ situation and income.
We never want a client’s financial concerns to be a barrier to accepting needed help.

Do you take insurance?

PSS does not bill insurance.

Do you only work with people with limited income?

The only requirements we have are that clients are 60+ and live in Cambridge.
If seniors or family do not live in Cambridge, PSS will guide them to appropriate resources

Do you only work with wealthy people?

The only requirements we have are that clients are 60+ and live in Cambridge.

How are you different from private care managers?

PSS is flexible regarding fees as described above.
PSS social workers are not available 24 hrs./day 7 days/wk as private care managers are.
PSS does not employ in-home care providers as some private care managers may.

Are your services different from state-funded home care or from the City of Cambridge?

Cambridge is rich with resources.  PSS, SCES, and the Council on Aging all provide information and consultation.  PSS is able to provide ongoing guidance, case management and support.
